Author Maurane Mazars won the Atomium Prize Raymond Leblanc of the Comic Strip Festival. This led to her comic “Tanz!” being published by Le Lombard in 2018. In 2021, it was even awarded the Prix Révélation (Debut Prize) at the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
Tanz! tells the story of Uli, a 19-year-old German dancer with a passion for musicals. However, post-war Germany offers few opportunities to satisfy his ambitions. Uli is then seduced by the American Dream and flies to New York, where he lives his dream and meets many people. The exhibition follows the chronology of the comic and literally plunges you into the neighbourhoods of New York in the 1960s. It also tackles themes such as post-war Germany, dance, the LGBTQI+ community, Broadway and more.
Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - free but booking is required
